Helen Luo aspires to apply an academic background in journalism and advertising with experience in filmproduction to create compelling documentaries.

Helen most recently worked as both a marketing and production intern for a Boston based production company, MarsMedia Productions, LLC. Her responsibilities included those of an executive assistant as she worked to enable a streamlined workflow by creating schedules, assisting in interviews, managing the company email, and assisting clients. Helen also helped on five video productions, revamped the company portfolio page, and organized two host auditions to increase company recognition.

Helen is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a minor in advertising at BostonUniversity. She is a member of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi Nu Chapter. As pledge class historian, she directed and created an event promotional video and video scrapbook.

In 2016, she was published in Issue 8 or WR: Journal of the CAS Writing Program. Her piece, “The Fallen Sakura: A retelling of The Ballad of fa Mulan” was among the top four essays submitted. In 2015, Helen was awarded Best Documentary at the Williston Northampton School Film Festival for her film “Couture for a Cause: What does Fashion mean to you?”



In her free time, Helen enjoys traveling and exploring the niches within a city or binge-watching the latest comedic sitcom or movies such as the matrix trilogy. On weekends, Helen loves visiting Art exhibits at the MFA or the local artists’ studios down at SOWA Arts & Design District. A movie fanatic and a coffee-lover, you can also find her working part-time at Thinking Cup.
